Welcome

The Slow Fell Walker is a photo diary of our walks in the Lake District National Park, the Yorkshire Dales and the Coast to Coast path, the aim of which is to share our fell walking experiences with family, friends and anyone else who happens to land here.  When walking in the Lake District we are usually tackling the 214 fells which Alfred Wainwright, often referred to as AW, featured in his guidebooks as we aim to complete our second round more quickly than the 22 years it took for our first.

To find the walks use the menus at the top of the page – if there’s a link then there’s a walk done and written up.  The introductions to each walk note statistics such as mileage, height gain, weather, the route we took and how long each walk took us – from this you’ll see where the website name came from.
