Hello.  We’re Helen and Stephen and we have recently moved to Cumbria 25 years after we first talked about that being our retirement dream.

Stephen brought me to the Lake District on our first holiday together in 1993, staying in a tiny cottage in Chapel Stile.  He had grown up in the north west and loved the weekend trips his family would make to the Lake District.

My family holidays were always to the seaside, usually in Devon, and I was worried I wouldn’t enjoy a holiday with no sea or sand.  One week later I’d fallen in love with the mountains and almost every holiday since has been spent here.

We completed our first Wainwright round in 2015.  My first was Loughrigg in September 1993 and the last for both of us was Scafell in September 2015.

We’ve started on round two and now that we live here are hopeful of completing it in less than 22 years.  We also have the Yorkshire Dales and the Howgills close by and plan to get to know them better as well.  And completing the Coast to Coast is a must of course.

This website is a record of our walking.
